The "Chalk Mark" Story
When I was a young boy, I remember my Grandad (who could fix anything) telling me a story about an engineer who knew how to fix a broken generator, and he put a chalk mark on the broken part of the machine.
The story (click here for the full story) may be an urban myth but the sentiment behind it holds true; putting a chalk mark on a problem is easy, knowing how to find what is causing the problem and how to fix it is the part that requires experience and expertise.
I've spent nearly 30 years working with complex technology projects across the region and I've built a career on understanding how to diagnose business challenges, simplify processes and streamline the way we interact with them.
